National Indoor Mold Society is hosting several internet talk shows to celebrate National Women's Health Week to educate women about being exposed to indoor molds. We are celebrating National Women's Health because many women are affected by this environmental disease and they do not know it. Many women are dying because they are being misdiagnosed. Many women are suffering from multiple illnesses and their doctors do not know the root cause of their illnesses. Did you know that 500,000 people die annually from mold-related deaths? It is the "Silent Killer Within". We want to bring awareness and share our tragic stories in hopes of helping other women from experiencing the same ordeal.

We wanted to get an early start for our 13 hour drive to Ensenada. We planned on leaving about 6 AM so that we would not have to drive in the dark. Cows, goats, and coyotes like to hang out on the road at those times. Since the road does not have a shoulder, just an abrupt drop off that would easily roll over your car, you need to stay alert at all times. At 5 AM, the Mexican music started, at concert levels. It was coming from one of the only shade trees on the beach in front of the place we were renting. Apparently, the occupants of the car wanted the entire neighborhood to share in their choice of Sunday morning music. By the time we hit the shower; the police had paid them a visit and asked them to turn it down. They lowered the volume to where we were about to talk without shouting. It is really not helpful to be confrontational in these situations since they know where you live.

According to CDC data , cigarette smoking is the single most preventable cause of premature death in the United States, with more than 400,000 Americans dying from cigarette smoking each year (one in every five deaths in the United States is smoking related). Exposure to secondhand smoke (or environmental tobacco smoke) causes an estimated 3,000 deaths from lung cancer, alone, among American adults, and according to a new study by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, exposure to secondhand smoke even for a brief period is injurious to health. They also found that the deleterious effects of the exposure remain in the body for at least 24 hours, much longer than previously thought : According to the study, a 30-minute exposure to the level of secondhand smoke that one might normally inhale in an average bar setting was enough to result in blood vessel injury in young and otherwise healthy lifelong nonsmokers. Compounding the injury to the blood vessels themselves, the exposure to smoke impedes the function of the body's natural repair mechanisms that are activated in the face of the blood vessels' injury, the researchers report. Many of these effects persisted 24 hours later.
