Three new Mayo Clinic studies find that REM (rapid eye movement) sleep behavior disorder is associated with anxiety, apathy, lower scores in attention and executive functioning, as well as symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The findings will be presented at the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting in Chicago on April 15. People who have REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) appear to act out their dreams, which often are unpleasant and violent.
