However, a new systematic review finds that nurses can get the "quit now" message across effectively. The analysis of 31 clinical studies comprising 12,000 adult smokers finds that smokers offered advice by nurses have an increased likelihood of quitting compared to smokers without such intervention.

Fires caused by a discarded cigarette threatened the lives of an elderly women over the weekend. A woman fell asleep at her home in Cysgodfa and the cigarette set her chair ablaze on Saturday evening. Smoke detectors activated an automatic connection to Careline.
